Settings & Configuration

Settings and Configuration in Dispatch allows you to customize the platform to match your business needs and operational requirements.

Overview

Configuration Scopes

Settings are organized by scope:

  • Business Settings - Company-wide configuration
  • User Settings - Personal preferences
  • Customer Settings - Per-customer configuration

Accessing Settings

Navigate to Settings from the main menu to access all configuration options.

Business Settings

General Settings

Configure business-wide options:

  1. Go to Settings > Business
  2. View and modify settings
  3. Save changes

Available Settings

Business settings include:

Operational Settings

  • Default time zone
  • Operating hours
  • Currency
  • Date format

Fulfillment Settings

  • Default carrier
  • Service level defaults
  • Package dimension presets
  • Handling instructions

Communication Settings

  • Company contact information
  • Notification preferences
  • Customer communication defaults

Getting Settings

View current settings:

  1. Access Settings page
  2. Select setting category
  3. View current values

Updating Settings

Change configuration:

  1. Access settings
  2. Modify values
  3. Save changes
  4. Changes apply immediately

Configuration Scopes

Business Scope

Settings that apply to entire business:

  • Company-wide defaults
  • Operational parameters
  • Integration configuration

Customer Scope

Settings specific to customers:

  1. Access customer profile
  2. Go to Configuration tab
  3. View customer-specific settings

Per-Customer Configuration

Override defaults for specific customers:

  • Preferred carrier
  • Service level requirements
  • Special instructions
  • Notification preferences

Dimension Presets

What Are Dimension Presets?

Save common package dimensions:

  • Standard box sizes
  • Pallet dimensions
  • Custom packaging

Managing Presets

Access dimension presets:

  1. Go to Settings > Dimension Presets
  2. View existing presets
  3. Add, edit, or remove

Creating Presets

Add a new preset:

  1. Click "Add Preset"
  2. Enter name
  3. Specify dimensions (L x W x H)
  4. Add default weight (optional)
  5. Save preset

Using Templates

Copy from system templates:

  1. View available templates
  2. Select template
  3. Copy to your presets
  4. Customize as needed

Default Preset

Set a default preset:

  1. Select a preset
  2. Click "Set as Default"
  3. Auto-applied to new shipments

Deleting Presets

Remove presets:

  1. Find preset
  2. Click "Delete"
  3. Confirm removal

Service Level Templates

What Are Service Levels?

Service levels define delivery expectations:

  • Delivery timeframe
  • Service requirements
  • Handling specifications

Managing Service Levels

Configure service level templates:

  1. Go to Settings > Service Levels
  2. View existing templates
  3. Add or modify

Creating Templates

Add a service level:

  1. Click "Add Template"
  2. Enter name
  3. Define parameters:
    • Delivery timeframe
    • Requirements
    • Restrictions
  4. Save template

Deleting Templates

Remove templates:

  1. Select template
  2. Click "Delete"
  3. Confirm removal

Application Configuration

System Configuration

View available configuration options:

  1. Go to Settings > System
  2. Browse configuration categories
  3. View current settings

  • Each setting has a unique key
  • Values can be modified

Address Configuration

Address Text Parsing
